At Courtlands School, Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) supports students with SEN by developing speech, language, and social communication skills. Therapists work closely with teachers, embedding strategies into lessons through visual aids, simplified instructions, modelling language, and targeted vocabulary exercises. This ensures students practice skills in real learning contexts, boosting understanding, confidence, and participation.
By integrating therapy with classroom activities, students are empowered to communicate effectively, engage in group work, and build independence across all subjects. SALT at Courtlands is hands-on, collaborative, and tailored, directly enhancing both academic and social success.
