Courtlands Independent Special School

Subject Overview

Our KS3 curriculum is in line with the National Curriculum.  We have a broad, balanced and dynamic curriculum that honours the traditions of the school. From Design Technology to Horticulture, KS3 students have a fantastic array of subjects to study. The curriculum is tailored to our students and constantly evolving, to ensure that Courtlands students receive an education which prepares them to excel in an ever changing and developing world.

The curriculum has been designed to be responsive to the needs of individual students, enabling them to get a secure grounding in the basics of literacy and numeracy, where necessary, if they find learning more difficult.

In KS3, all students study Art, Cooking, Design Technology, English, Geography, Horticulture, History, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, PSHE, Religious Studies and Science.
