 The Therapy Team at Courtlands

As a new school, Courtlands School is thoroughly aware of the need to provide high quality support to its students who, in many cases, have previously experienced a degree of under provision in their past education, which has overall been detrimental to their development.

As such, the school has quickly gathered a well-rounded Multi-Disciplinary Team of therapists and specialists to support the student’s Emotional Wellbeing, their Language and Communication difficulties, as well as a range of Cognitive Learning difficulties.

The team currently consists of three part-time Speech and Language therapists, a dedicated HLTA Speech and Language Support Worker, two part-time Occupational Therapists, a Counsellor, a part time Psychotherapeutic practitioner, plus a growing number of staff who are ELSA trained.

This range of provision and the number of specialists available to students has already put Courtlands School beyond what is considered to be a good offer in many other SEN schools. As a result, it has been acknowledged by our students’ parents and carers to have made a significant difference to their family life and the academic and social development of their child.
