Courtlands Independent Special School

First Whole School Sponsored Walk!!!

On Monday 28th September, Courtlands students embarked on their first ever sponsored walk, a 5-mile return trip from school to Worthing pier and back. The walk was organised to support one of Worthing’s local charities, WADARS, an animal rescue and rehoming centre currently based near Highdown.

The Monday was a beautiful sunny day and 70 students, along with staff, walked through Goring Gap, to the seafront and along the prom to the pier. After an ice cream and a photo opportunity, it was time to head back for a hearty lunch and an afternoon of lessons.

The student's behaviour was impeccable and almost £900 was raised for WADARS which is truly incredible. Thank you to all the students who took part, the staff who accompanied and encouraged them, and to everyone that sponsored the children. What an amazing and worthwhile experience this was!
